ASA Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the management of the Association as well as developing the long-term financial and strategic plans. Directors devote a substantial amount of their personal time to ensure the success of the Association. There are four quarterly meetings as well as frequent conference calls between the meetings. The Board of Directors is a volunteer board and as such ASA does not pay for the expense associated with attending the quarterly meetings. The Board of Directors is also responsible for appointing the following officers: President, Corporate Secretary and Corporate Treasurer.

About Brent


After earning his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Southern Methodist University, Brent began his career in aviation at Aircraft Inventory Management & Services in 1994.  Brent combined his growing experience in aftermarket aircraft parts distribution with his technology education to drive innovation and profitability through enhancing efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction. Brent started at AIMS as manager of Information Systems, eventually earning the title of President in 2003. Brent is a senior board member of the Aviation Suppliers Association and serves as the point person on technology issues. In this role, he involved himself in government affairs such as Exemption 8696, an exemption to allow relief for distributors to obtain export 8130-3 tags for Class III product. He also served on the Regulatory Documentation Interest Group for ATA, which oversaw the promulgation of the Electronic 8130-3 and helped shape Chapter 5 of FAA Order 8130.21. As a representative of ASA and member of ARSA, Brent sought Department of Commerce understanding on the negative effects of FAA reauthorization as it was written and also meeting with Congressional staff and working with the FAA on aviation safety initiatives. In 2009, Brent co-founded A.I. Intellectual Property to take to market the efficiencies developed during his career. Currently a board member of A.I. Intellectual Property he has oversight of custom development that focuses on the aviation industry and EDI connections (including SPEC2000) using .Net, Java and iOS. Brent has twice been a presenter & speaker at the annual conference of ASA and also a speaker at the Aeroxchange conference in 2012 and in 2013. Brent was nominated for the Top 40 Aviation Professionals under 40 in 2013. In July 2013, he left Aircraft Inventory to join AerSale as Vice President of Information Technology and Business Development to further expand his business knowledge into the Aircraft Lease/Finance, MRO and Teardown market space. Additionally, Brent was intimately involved in the integration of Xtra Airways and Songbird Airways as well as AerSale's procurement of Aero-Mechanical Industries. In 2016, Brent moved to CAVU Aerospace where he continues to look at ways of enhancing systems and processes to better utilize the aircraft fleet aftermarket.
